I remember you from chorus - I was in HiLites in 9th grade, then Rainbow Singers from 10th - 12th grade. (My last name back then was "Hakken".)

I remember you! Curly brown hair, and I think both you and your sister were pianists? We were in Hi-Lites together. You taught me the lyrics to "Food, Glorious Food!" (anhhhnd theeee muuuuuuh-staaaahd)

Remember those dark blue prison-reject dresses we wore? They were fairly stylish at the time, but looking back...yeesh!

Want to know something even worse? I still have that black leather belt!

Were you the only one that you know of who was married in high school? I thought there was one girl who graduated with us (87) or maybe ahead of us who was already married. I know we had 2 in our class get married exactly one week after graduation, but I seem to remember someone already being married as well.

I know Christina Carlin got married shortly after school I think. I lost touch with her a few years ago. If anyone knows where she is let me know!!!

[ I think communication is half the battle, especially before you get married. You also have to decide what you can/can't live with and go from there.[/quote]

So true Sheri! I actually have been married twice and am current in the middle of a divorce. I don't totally regret either one as I have three beautiful children as a result. My first marriage was because I didn't want to be alone..My second time I married someone I had fun being with and could talk to.and someone I thought I would spend forever with. Then we quit talking about anything not kid related..and we quit having fun. After always being wrong and being the only one having a problem I decided we needed counseling. A while after that thought was rejected I decided I was tired of living like this. Now that we are almost divorced we get along pretty good..I think he finally realized I wasn't always wrong..I tried to tell him all along LOL

I was in the class of 1989, and as far as I knew I was the only one married in 9th grade. There may have been other girls older than me that were married, but wasn't acquainted with them.

Jennifer Ellis got married when she was in 10th grade to Michael Flick. I think they were married until just a few years ago. She was pregnant when she got married. I think I was a junior or senior... both Christina Pullins and Pepper Page got married a week after graduation. Both of their first marriages ended in divorce.

Do you still keep in touch with Pepper Page? How is she?

I believe Cindy Brown got married before graduation, (to Craig Tinkham, with whom she had a baby in her senior year.) It has been years since I've seen her, so I'm not sure if they are still together.

The more I see, the happier I am that I didn't get married younger. Not that it was ever an issue or an option, just glad it didn't work out that way. People change so much in their teens and twenties. And I am very thankful that "the ones that got away" actually DID get away! :D

I know in our class at least one person had a child by the time we graduated. I'm pretty sure another person was married, but I can't place her name or face, even looking at the yearbook pictures. I knew a name/face vaguely back then, but she was pretty low-key and seemed to fly under the radar. Melody Sanford was one of the ones who married one week after graduation; it ended in divorce. I'm pretty sure Celeste Walker got married the same weekend as Melody, but I'm not 100% on that. I know I sat near Celeste in Ms. Payne's Am. Govt. class and that's where I found out about Melody getting married.

I got married right out of college (DEE,DEE,DEE) I think there should be a law you can't get married till around 27. It lasted 6 years somehow. Anyway I reunited with Suzi Jiminez who went to Middle School in Dunnellon and then they rezoned her for Forest her Freshman year. We were really good friends all through high school and college but I lost touch after I married. We have been married since 1998 and it has been wonderful. We have 3 kids, all by our first marriages, 1 from me 2 from her. The kids have been together since they were very little so they have been raised as siblings. If middle school counts as high school, I married someone I knew from school.

Its been 20 years for us. To this day, I don't know what she saw in me.
She, (Dawn Claffey) was a good student, and a "good" girl.
I, (Jeff Bowne) was the class(less) clown, and did my best sleeping in Mr. Hartleys class.

Back then I was Lori Henderson. If anyone older remembers Tammy Henderson, that was my sister in law. She used to date John Duan.

Last I heard, they got divorced, but that's like 3rd or 4th hand knowledge. She had her son our senior year the weekend of the Christmas Parade and the day before my birthday.

Our class had a few kids before and right after graduation.

Just got a message from Cindy over on classmates. Her last name is Keith now. I'll update y'all as soon as I know more.
